The Academy

Dental education and training has been an integral part of The Dawood and Tanner Specialist Dental Practice for the last 20 years. The broadening of the GDC scope of practice, changes in regulations, and the many new educational opportunities in dentistry, have motivated us to consolidate our educational activities into a single excellent teaching centre to provide accredited training and education. The Dawood and Tanner Academy was established to accommodate dentists, dental nurses, dental technologists and administrators in comfortable, bright and airy Central London premises with easy access for all.

Alison Steadward has headed the management of Dawood and Tanner’s large and well qualified team for 15 years. Through her work with dental nurse development, as an examiner for the NEBDN, and as a member of the editorial board of Dental Nursing Magazine, she has championed the ‘upskilling’ of dental nurses and dental administrators through accredited training for many years.

Since 1995, Glenys Bridges has directed dental education facilities in which she has developed and delivered a wide range of non-clinical dental qualifications. She is currently Managing Director of Glenys Bridges Practice Pathways Ltd. Her vast knowledge and experience has enabled the Academy to achieve a robust a quality-based curriculum for nurses, receptionists, care coordinators and managers.

We have amalgamated this inspirational team, to cover all aspects of dental training and establish what we believe to be an exceptional Dental Academy that will enable dentists and dental professionals to fulfil their potential.
