Dental Implant Nursing NEBDN Certificate

This course provides a post registration qualification for registered dental nurses wishing to gain an increased knowledge and understanding of implant dentistry.


The NEBDN is recognised as leading the field in dental nurse education. Dental nurses achieving post registration NEBDN qualifications are recognised in the UK and Europe and most English speaking countries.

Embarking on a course at the Dawood and Tanner Academy will ensure that your learning is of the highest standard. Using online blended learning techniques you will be taught, mentored and assessed by dental professionals who are not only renowned in their dental field but have a passion for learning and development.

The course has 3 elements, the robust record of competence supported by online learning units and a 90 minute written examination.

The Record of  Competence which has 4 parts:

Part A: Practical Competence Assessment Sheets

Part B: Two Extended Case Studies

Part C: Directly observed clinical skills

Part D : Supplementary outcomes

This qualification aims to develop dental nurses theoretical knowledge and skills:

We make all our qualifications as accessible as possible and have a comprehensive range of services to support all our students.  The NEBDN Certificate in Dental Implant Nursing uses a variety of study materials and has the following elements:

  • studying a mixture of online material – online learning resources will include websites, audio/video media , and interactive activities such as online quizzes
  • external/third party material .
  • Completion of an online Portfolio ( ROC) which is supported by your practice mentor.

All qualifications require you to complete learning and assessment activities within a required timescale and according to pre-determined deadlines. You will therefore need to manage your time effectively during your studies and the Academy will help you to develop this skill throughout your qualification. Information on assessment will be available to you at the start of this course.

Completion of each unit as well as the Record of Competence is essential before admission to the written examination
 A total of 60 hours of VCPD will be credited to this course.


Dental Implant Nursing NEBDN Certificate

The minimum age requirement for this course is 18 years.

Students must have:

  • GDC registration

  • Professional indemnity certificate.

  • Students must have access to assist with dental implant patients.

  • They must have written confirmation from a supervising dentist that they take responsibility for overseeing the students training in the workplace

  • Written confirmation that they will receive instruction from a workplace mentor in the practical knowledge necessary to assist with the Implantology techniques competently and with the completion of a Record of Competence.

  • be self-motivated

  • Excellent level of English. You must be able to read, write and understand English fluently. Students will be asked to complete an entry assessment module. The results of this will determine your ability to progress with the course.

 

COMPUTING REQUIREMENTS

You will need a device with internet access to study this course as the study material and activities are accessible via a web browser.

We recommend the following:

We recommend a minimum 1 Mbps internet connection

You must have access to a device that has headphones and camera when taking your examination.

 All courses should be completed within a minimum of 10 months and a maximum of 12 months.

You will have a tutor allocated to you who will help you with the study material and mark and comment on your written work. You can ask your tutor for help and guidance.

Learning will take place across a blend of media.

ASSESSMENT

You will be expected to submit your work online through the NEBDN dedicated student pathway PebblePad.

Assessment is an essential part of this course learning and you are expected to meet all agreed course deadlines. You will be set the term dates before the course begins.

Course materials are available to cover the essential aspects of this course. Independent research is essential to optimise your understanding and learning.
